Hi, Am new around this parts as u can see. Am looking upgraded my PC next month and have had alook around and heard things, So thinking about going for the following which i would like ** thoughs on!.

Intel Core 2 DUO E6300 "LGA775 Allendale"

GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC5300 667MHz Value DDR2 Dual Channel Kit

BFG GeForce 7900 GT OC 256MB ( X1800XT ? Better!?)

Scythe Miné Quiet Heatpipe CPU Cooler

Gigabyte GA_965P_DS3 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

I heard u can really OC this E6300 running around 2.9ghz. With this setup do u think it should play most games pretty bloody well on high detail?, Like BF2 POE2 (when its out) HL2?.

Welcome to the forums, it looks fine although I would change the 7900gt for an X1800XT or even the X1900XT which is only slightly more just now.

Do you already have a good PSU? If not I would strongly suggest getting one as otherwise you will probably limit your overclocks.
 
Thanks, Its a 400W but its 1 that came with the case so its gonna be a cheap 1. Will be upgrading on that but i dont think i will be paying big money on 1. What could u say is good for £20 or so.

tbh mate this is the way i see it, the PSU is one of (if not) the most important pieces of hardware in your machine, i always buy quality power supplies because its peace of mind knowing that your hardware is getting the adequate power it needs to run 100%, i used to use cheap power supplies but had no end of problems but once i started using Enermax power supplies nearly every one of my rigs has worked perfectly ... buy cheap and buy twice, buy quality at the right price and it will last you :)
 
have to agree with hexorcist (spelling) for me psu is the one of the most important parts i would look to get a decent psu say a tagan or a seasonic before any of the conroe set up!!!! but hey its your choice

Kk, As am hoping 2 get this clocked nice and high so dont wanna be disapointed when it does due 2 the PSU then having 2 order and wait for it!.

So, What card would u say the 7900GT or X1800XT, Both will be OC. Been reading and the X1800XT makes everything look better when (i cant remember the name) is turn on.
