Not sure you can really go wrong with that for £120. Assuming the frame is in good condition you can upgrade components whenever if you want too.

just waiting to here from the seller.
the bike seems perfect for my size and cheap enough to buy as a starter bike.

is there anything you would change to that bike ?
would i need new pedals ?

yea make sure you check the frame for any signs of cracks

do you plan on riding at night?
After sunset:

You need to have at least one front light, which is white or yellow.
You need to have at least one rear light, which is red.
Lights can be flashing
Your compulsory lights (i.e. the one front and one rear light you’re required to have) need to bear the relevant British Standard mark, which depends on when the bike was manufactured. Any optional extra lights don’t need a BS mark.
You also need to have a rear reflector, which is red.
You have to have two pedal reflectors on each pedal – one facing the front and one facing the rear – which have to be “amber” (i.e. orange)

BTW £30 for riding on pavements if your over 16.
although some police might ignore it if your not travelling as speed or if it's because the road seems like it would be to dangerous for someone on a bike due to really busy traffic , roadworks , dangerous roundabouts etc
I guess it depends on whether someone is anti biker or not and if they are having a good day

paths not next to roads are fine (high streets etc) aslong as there's no bylaws against it AFAIK

The pedal look like cheap and nasty flat pedals with toe clips, i would change them to some cheap clipless myself.

OK seller has accepted just need to sort a courier any RECs?

erm I think that bike is going to get to you in pieces unless a local bike shop properly boxes it up for him which is usually about £10-£20 and not many shops do it.

It's a massive risk to buy a bike you have not seen in person to inspect and you have no idea how smooth it rides never mine expecting a bike to survive a courier trip without getting hammered around and smashed to crap

for all you know the chain is worn , the cassette has been eaten by a worn chain etc , the bearings are shot all over the bike.

is there nothing near you on http://www.pinkbike.com/buysell ? make sure you filter it to your area.

?
It's not difficult to package a bike.
I'v posted 3-4 bikes and never had any problems. Just asked for a carboard box from the bike shop (which they had no bother with) and made sure it was padded properly.

Yeah, I packaged a bike many years ago when I didn't have half the knowledge I do about maintaing bikes as I do now.

You simply get a cardboard bike box from a shop, they will have loads spare and they will either give it you for free or a fiver or so. You then just need to remove enough parts to be able to get it into the box. Then just use a hell of a lot of bubble wrap and duct tape to hold everything together and protect it all.

I did that and took the bike on a long journey and air travel and it and the box were perfectly fine.
