I was thinking about getting this for around the house and garden so to speak ...its ok ?

I Have absolutely no experience with that camera, and know very little about it, but its an action sports camera with a wide field of view. Such cameras are great for what they are designed for, but a more traditional camera will take far better photos with a normal field of view. Since you stated that you want it for around the house and garden, I think you would be far better suited to something else.

It will probably be useless for taking photos like gopro is useless for photos. Its all about recording.
