Hi,

Hopefully somebody can help resolve this minor issue.

On my computer I cannot access https://forums.slimdevices.com/

When doing this in Firefox I get a display showing "This Connection is Untrusted". The technical details are:

forums.slimdevices.com uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate expired on 26/02/2010 20:36.

(Error code: sec_error_expired_certificate)

When I open the page in Internet Explorer I get the equivalent message there.

This is the only website I am experiencing the issue with. Confusingly, the website works fine on other computers (I've tested it on two different computers, though both on different internet connections).

Searching for help on Google has not been successful as all sites relate to incorrect system time, however I have verified correct system time both in Windows and in the BIOS.

Any ideas?

Cheers.

It's not your problem, it's theirs. Simply put the certificate they're using to secure the site has expired - it expired 26/2/2010.

It's issued to Logitech so you would hope they'd keep track of such things.

Actually, banging through to this site on a couple of other machines produces a cert that's valid to 27/2/2011. My guess is they've got an array of web servers and they haven't replaced the cert on one or more of them.

How does it explain that I've been able to access this website without problem on two other machines? I initially thought it was their fault but then became a little confused as out of three machines I use only this one computer has trouble accessing the website (Irrespective of browser, etc).

Does the site work for you, or also show the aforementioned message?

Thanks!

You'd be suprised how often this happens..

Just accept the out of date certificate as an exception.

I appreciate that's possible but it's hardly a reasonable solution. If the problem is on their side (And nothing to do with me) then fine, but as yet it's not been entirely verified.

I can access the site using http rather than https anyway so it's not a huge problem in terms of use but was initially concerned if this issue was with me or with them.

Perfectly reasonable solution if you ask me - it's only a forum, not like it's a major financial institution. Your traffic will still be encrypted, your browser is simply warning you that the certificate is invalid (out of date).
