this folding malarkey

interested in getting in on this.

realistically what would i need to be making a serious impression on the leaderboard.

have 3pcs at home(soon to be 4 when i build a new dual core opty system)

and also have access to the works network afterhours.(circa 45 machines)


would i realistically be able to make a show
 
Holy crap! Of course you'd make an impression! With about 40 machines that are moderately new you'd probably be able to pull around 8,000 points per day. That's some serious crunching. :D
 
well would only really have access from 6pm-8am all new P4's oh and a couple of servers as well :) may be able to convince out it supremo to allow me to use the entire sites network rather than our own workgroup which would be circa 1100 pc's :)
 
Yeah, go for it, just make sure you've got permission tho. It would be a shame to get them all going and then have to take folding off because you didn't ask to put it on there. ;)
 
will speak to our it head on monday tell him its for a good cause etc and see if the upper echelons agree for me using the entire centres resources outwith working hours :) over a 1000 p4'sand a good few dozen servers should see a healthy folding score methinks.
 
Impression on the team leaderboard? If you had 1000+ P4s doing Folding, you would make a serious impression on the world leaderboard!

I'd say so too, and here is me thinking i'm doing well with an assorted 350 ish computers.
 
If you'd like some ideas when it comes to asking permission to install FAH there are some sites that have samples and guides. Some boys at Team 44851 put together a FAH wiki that has a decent page on the topic. Check it out if you like.
