Ok, I have 2 computers setup in a room. I have upgraded the 1st and put the old parts into a 2nd system.

Now the wierd bit;

The 2nd computer will NOT come on with my 2nd monitor.

The 2nd Computer WILL come on with the 1st computers monitor.

The 1st Computer WILL come on with BOTH monitors!

Why would it work on 1 monitor but not the other?? Anyone heard of this before?

Many thanks if anyone can help this really has me pickled!

hat type of moniter
crt / lcd

if it lcd it happened to me the menu on the screen was defaulting to the wrong resolution so the picsture was way off and the screen would not then auto tune and aligain its self giveing a blank screen if that makes sense

When you say The 2nd computer will NOT come on with my 2nd monitor do you get anything at all?
Bios screen and xp logo then black screen? Or nothing not even bios screen?

One thing you can do is set resolution too high in windows. If my refresh rate is set to 85HZ it is ok for my CRT but too high for my TFT. Had an old CRT that would not run above 75hz and when windows was set to 85hz it showed bios and xp loading then switched to black screen.

Tired, must sleep now. :)

No it wont even show boot screen :( When I first plugged it in there was a sort of grey screen with horizontal lines but that went and now nothing at all.

I would have assumed graphics card, but for the fact it shows perfect on the other monitor.

Windows resolutions dont kick in until past the boot bios screens right?

I put a 8800 gtx in there and it came up fine on the monitor... :(

So it's the graphics card that's at fault, wierd why would it load up bf2142 fine on 1 monitor but not even boot on the other.

This brings me back a bit lol i have had the same prob, with my tft in sig, its very fussy on the dvi on graphics cards, it might be a similar prob to what you have, if your usiing dvi, i even had my tft rmad thinking it was the tft, if i had thought i would have checked to see if it was working on a standard rgb, i tried chaging the dvi leads drivers the whole lot bar the most obvius thing,it turned out to be the tft/graphics card combo. But if your using the stadard lead please ignore this post,
