This Instant And Moment - 2026!

Just received my unconditional offer for my master's degree. It's going to be hard work balancing full time job, children and training (I have a few comps this year) with it but it'll be worth it. Work are supportive and will allow me study time. I'm excited but nervous at the same time.

What're you going to be studying? I'm currently doing the first section of my MBA and you're damn right it's hard work balancing things.

MA in AI and digital transformation. It's very much in line with the work I do (innovation, digital transformation) but obviously AI is a "thing" apparently :o

I was tempted by an MBA but can't justify the cost and work was more amenable to contributing to "only" an MA.

Good luck! How are you finding it so far?

Funnily enough it has a massive focus on AI! Definitely out of my comfort zone but actually I've kind of spun that around and embraced it by focussing more on the areas I historically haven't really been interested in (marketing, finance). Balancing the workload with work and family is the challenge though, if you can crack that it'll be a cakewalk for you.

Facebook wanted me to verify my 19year old facebook account with a photo + photo ID.

No way in hell am I doing that..... probably cos I had a photo of my sons face when he was a bay ony my FB profile and not me..

I don;t want my photos on the internet for personal reason , mostly being autistic and never letting even my family take photos etc....
what a joke...

Had a rather excellent New years, got treated to a meal and comedy night out for my bday on the 29th, NYE was on a boat cruise along the Thames to see fireworks, then partied into the night, the next day out for dinner again because why not, then yesterday filmed my first talk show episode before another dinner

2026 is going to be THE year!

LCS etc :p

Replaced the awfully noisy NZXT AIO in my NZXT H1 with a Noctual NH-L9i and silence has been re-established. Had spent quite a bit of time playing about with fan profiles and fan curves but it was ramping up and down constantly, not sure if something had gone wrong. Haven't heard the fan once since replacing.

Working in ITX cases is always fun when you have sausage fingers.

Turns out booking the 2nd Jan used a day of my 2026 holiday allowance, I was adamant when booking I was using 2025’s balance but clearly had a lapse in brain capacity. How annoying.

2nd Jan was a compulsary leave day for us, but its pre-deducted from our annual leave

I still have loads of leave left to use by march

I will end up doing the same , selling 5 days and also carrying over 5 days

I just found out I can take paid parental leave (1 week) for each child.

So that's an extra 10 days of A/L I can take.

Walked a mile and a half into town intending to return a library book. Due to adverse weather conditions they are closed (mutter mutter). Still i got a carrier bag of shopping and four pints of milk to carry home. Wimps.

We had snow overnight, although not much anymore, and a powercut in the area at the moment, but the local library is still open offering a warm space and access to internet. They are unaffected by the powercut, so that does help I suppose :p

Time to put the jacket on the outside tap and its gone and hidden itself again, will probably find it in the summer
