Got a laptop here that's having issues, booting into Vista normally results in a BSOD and error codes point toward a driver issue.
However whatever changes I attempt to make to system startup or other settings get reverted upon a reboot, user is an admin and it all appears to work until next reboot.
It'll happily let me install malwarebytes, update it and run a scan which finds a load of malware however removal is not happening due to the system failing to make any changes, I cannot even disable startup items in msconfig or by using other utilities, set it not to reboot on BSOD etc etc.
Anyone had similar issues before? I've not yet resorted to a repair install, it's on my list if I can't find a way around the constant reverting of settings.
Thanks.
