So today i fitted a new GPU 6950xt just to test, now when i playing games like squads.. when i press CAPS to open the maps my system will beep as if the say a new monitor as been connected my GPU and CPU will spike down and my keyboard inputs stop

let say I'm walking so pressing the up arrow key, if i press caps to see map my system will beep and i have to release the up key and repress to start walking again.

Any idea?
 
Does the Radeon overlay have a shortcut that is doing it? Think you can display it with ALT+R or ALT+Z.

It could be monitor software too, I guess, but nobody installs monitor software.

Idk what software uses caps lock, but I guess it could be anything :o

E.g. accessibility software (like sticky keys if you heard of that), keyboard, keyboard language.

You could check the event viewer if it happens again (application entries).

Oh, I think I see what you mean :o

Hmm. There's a post that it relates to UI audio settings and push to talk, but I don't see why that would power down your CPU/GPU, since that sounds more like what happens when you ALT+TAB and switch to Windowed mode, which is why I thought it was a keyboard shortcut from third party software that was doing it.
 
To rule out both scenarios can you temporarily remap the map key and test both new map key and caps lock.

What connections/cables are running from gpu to your monitor? Is it happening again with the new install?

yes it still happening but only in a tank, and only when entering map. its defo a resolution reset.
squads as a few funny setting like a gun scope is now picture in picture so when you look dose a scope it basically rendering 4k.

im gaming at 1440, i have to assume the map is at a different res, im going to grab a 1080p screen and see if it continues

I put the game in fullscreen, and selected apply. I went to change the resolution, and then went to go back to hit apply but noticed it won't let my mouse move across the screen after a certain distance, so I can't reach the apply button. How can I fix this?

Also saw some info on redit. Just google squads resolution issue. Maybe not your issue though.
 
This is whats happening, its not resalution its to do with AMD ARES, its making to the keyboard randomly disconnect for a second

Ever since I installed my reference 6900xt I am getting strange things with devices disconnecting/connecting, mainly my keyboard. I wouldn't even notice it, if not for a USB event logger. When I startup games sometimes, or just out of the blue (no idea what triggers it), I hear the device...
