:p I want a 20" monitor to go with my sexy new card. I play games and use PC for office work.
I am now after much searching and reading on here torn between:

Acer AL2016Ws 20" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Black/Silver (MO-015-AC)

Belinea 102035W 20.1" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Black/Silver (MO-003-BE)

BenQ FP202W 20" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Black (MO-014-BQ)

NEC MultiSync® LCD20WGX2 20.1" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Black/Silver (MO-009-NE)

Philips 200W6CS 20" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Silver (MO-015-PH) I have seen this at a competative price

Viewsonic VA2012W 20" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Silver/Black (MO-051-VS)

Thoughts given my needs please.

First, figure out which screen you want. Personally, i wouldn't want a TN panel for a 20" screen so the Acer and BenQ are out. Then think of if you like hardware scaling on the monitor, if you need it then that leaves NEC and Philips. Then you decide if you want a Glossy or Matt screen. And the price difference too.

It's simple as that !

LOL Raymond when you put it like that....

I can get the Phillips for £110 cheaper than the NEC so that may sway me :)

As I don't know a lot about these screens why not a TN panel?

TN panels have poor viewing angle WHEN compared to a M-PVA and S-IPS panel. The vertical Viewing angle is the main one, put one panel with another side by side and the difference is VERY apparent, the colours too with the MVA and IPS is a LOT better than TN.

told as it is

if having a reflective screen get the philips. If you dont sit behind the sun then go for the NEC. it really is worth the extra

i should know, ive owned both (albeit the philips for an hour)

MrLOL...if you please...

Would you rate the - Philips 200W6CS 20" Widescreen LCD Monitor at £328~

over the - Viewsonic VX2025 20" Widescreen LCD Monitor at £340~ ?

Just asking, im after a 19"/20" Tft, thats excellant for games, not tooooooo expensive...and is less likely to be shipped to me with backlight bleed etc and isnt going to cripple on me after using it for a few years!!!

Thanks in advance :)

cant really comment on the Viewsonic as i havent owned one. However it is made from TN film which is never going to be very good for movie playback or black levels.

the philips is based upon an IPS/MVA panel (we dont know which) and these are much better at the above. The philips suffered from no ghosting whatsoever that i could see, so response time is irrelevant

given that the philips is a good monitor (felt well made and chunky) and cheaper, id go for the philips.

PS dont get sucked into the hype on here about "blacklight bleed" Backlight bleed is uneven backlighting, with patches in the center that are lighter than those outside of it. Most on here seem to suffer a bit of backlight espcaping at the corners, which is all but inevitable. Given that most of the larger panels on sale have this (philips, NEC, belinea, viewsonic VA2012) i think its unavoidable.

If you're talking about the VX2025, that's not a TN screen. It's P-MVA.

Love mine i have to say. Gaming is fantastic on it, and the black levels are superb.

and I ordered 2 days ago

Sure its only like a £10 difference but that would've covered the dvi I ordered today lol.

It's a sweet deal this week only or not but still
