Ok i posted threads up about month ago saying my Cpu seems to be running hotter and hotter but it seem to settle at about 45.(d.cel.) and max about 50. i fort this was rather hot concidering av not OC it and am using an artic 7 with A.silver 5 compound.
most sed it proberly nothing to worry about but its now running at 63 on average.... this is just on general usage...

concidering wen i first built it (3-4 months ago) it was running at about 35 on average this is a large jump.... why?

any help?

cheers

As above check your heatsink. (for dust and to make sure its spinning fast enough)

When you remove it check to make sure youve got enough AS5 on as well.

Not much else it can be, where are you seeing these temps out of interest? bios?

Generally getting warmer weather now too, everyone's temps should be going up... although not by the ammount that you have just said

al rip it apart 2moz and have a look... at a thought i may have to much AS5 on i will check.
al stik a dust trapper thing on the case aswell.... it always been under the desk so =S after saying this there on 45 again now.... just odd .

thanx al let ya know how it goes.

Ok av Reset the Cooler and made sure there was a thin layer of AS5 but still no change so it cant be dust coz it was pretty much clean already...

... am just finking if i ever wanted to clock this am screwed ?!

my room is a hot tho usually so could be that even tho i turn my radiator off !

*** be looking at water cooling. =)

cheers !

get a better cooler, like a Tuniq Tower, or Scythe Ninja. AC7's are not the best coolers on the market.

They are not bad though, you should get much better perfomance than that. And *** Tuniqs and Scythes have trouble fitting into some cases!

exacly its not i wanna take the easy route out and just get a new cooler (cough money) its the fact my temps **** be better than that surly...

.... flash bios, nope never dun. care to explain.. please..

cheers

What is your case?

I'm currently running the intel stock cooler (waiting to buy a new heatsink) and I idle at 30ºC in a P180.

You wouldn't have your computer near a radiator? With the cooler weather we have had you might have turned your radiator up higher in your room thus heating up the computer.

Just to make sure your rig wont die on you I would make sure you got thermal protection enabled in the bios to shutdown your machine once the cpu reaches a certain temp.

My radiator is Switched off (even if heating is on) coz my room gets warm enuff.
the pins are defo secure.
and i think i do have the protection enabled.

EDIT: my case is well i dunno to be honest i will post a picture up.

Are the fans definately running. All fans in the case. Is the airflow impeded in any way. Are all the cables out of the way and not stopping a fan from working when your case is shut?

i have a zalman fan control it *** alarm me if a a fan wasnt working... i have 2 fans front, 1 side, and CPU. direction is out the back!!!

Try feeling the heat sink when your rig is running, if its hot then you know its doing it's job and must be an air flow problem with the case , if it's cool then its not and you might have a duff artic 7.
