Morning all,

I have a strange problem with my Windows system. I was playing GTA: SA, last night and it froze (sound went crazy, like repeating 2 seconds over and over of the same thing) and then it rebooted. So I thought, it must be getting too hot. So I took my case off. And ran the game again, same problem, it crashed. So to see if it was still a heat problem, I put my case back on and ran 3DMark 05. It ran perfectly no problems and finished the test with a score of 5734. :)

So then I did more testing. I ran Need For Speed: Most wanted. Ran that for one hour solid. No problems, PC ran it at max settings just fine.
Then I loaded GTA SA again and after being in the game for 10 minutes, it crashed, again.

This can't be a heat problem as I'm very sure 3DMark 05 and Need For Speed: Most Wanted, are a lot more graphic intensive and use a lot more CPU power then GTA SA does, right?

Can anyone shed some light on this for me please. I even reinstalled the game and no joy, same problem. :(

System specs are:

AMD 64 3400+
Shuttle SN85G4 V2
160GB Hitachi HDD
ATI X800 XT 256MB
1GB PC3200 Ram

Please help guys.

Many Thanks,

Robert.

There is a driver problem. The game will crash everytime it's about to rain. I had this problem last time. However I have forgotten how I fixed it last time. :(

Anyone know?

gta :sa can be a pain on my system, actually ive got to reinstall it because it wont even load now, and i got pretty far on it. Anyway umm, try reinstalling it.

Hi James,

Ya, I've tried reinstalling it. But it's a lekker game and I enjoy playing it. So really want to get it working. But it's the sound problem I think. Last time I just got updated drivers..I think..I donno...:(
