4ghz prime stable is unlikely even under some heavy weight cooling as most Q6600 wont reach that sort of speed (only 10 on the XS database and less than that on the database here at OCUK).. you have to be very lucky with the CPU and recently most Q6600 have been poorish clockers.. not to say under decent water you wont get 3.6 or so but might take some effot

what sort of temps are you getting under primeload? make sure you are using the latest version of coretemp/speedfan/realtemp to get these readings.. what vcore are you using in the BIOS? and what are you getting under load in windows.?

Have only had limited experience on gigabyte boards although am sure Mr Cob will be about at some point to advise on settings!

Yeah what does CPU-Z say the vcore is? And what does Core Temp say the VID is?

Vcore's still pretty low at 1.376v in Windows. Raise it up another notch or two.

I am looking at getting new ram but am unsure which is best with my setup eather
Corsair 2GB (2x1024MB) PC8500 Dual Channel DDR2 (TWIN2X2048-8500C5D) XMS-2-8500 Dominator or
OCZ DDR2 PC2-8500 2GB Reaper HPC Edition Dual Channel Memory - OCZ2RPR10664GK
which would you recommend cob?

lower multiplier to x6 or x7 and check whats your fsb wall.
so try doing like 6x500 and see if it boots, if not lower it and keep lowering untill it boots.
Then you will get an idea of what about will be your max speed.
