But... Isn't that thing more like a pre-historic UMD than a floppy disk? Boy, sure beats my 3 1/2". :o
 
I still have my Pioneer laserdisk player and over 100 films :eek:

Not played any of them for ages.

Laserdisk was also used for Arcade Games (dragons lair for example) and data projects such as the Domesday Project.

I've still got my Pioneer too - I've got some nice box sets still: star wars, T2, Tron and ET. I'm pretty sure that the star wars dvd release recently with the original versions as extras are ripped straight of the laserdisks.
