I think the word Hero gets used a bit too often and loosley these days. I just happened to stumble across this and I thought, that is actually heroic and very humble too.

Sure soldiers, policemen or firemen can be heroic but they are trained professionals. (usually) Heroism is kinda of implied/expected. At least to me?

A random guy plucking up the courage and just doing that... That is Heroic. :p

Anyway Thats all i have to say. :D

What an incredible act of bravery, especially when it comes to fires in buildings.

Some people are just programmed to do the right thing regardless of their own well-being.

And this just topped it off:
"He calmly walks in there, calmly. Then here he comes, carrying the dad," recalls Lederach.

Then he vanished.

Hero indeed.:D

I agree that the word hero is used far to often these days particularly by the media who seem to think that even if you happen to go to somewhere where you might hear a gun going off you are immediately a hero.

Of course soldiers, policemen, fire fighters ETC can be heroic but that has to be for something above and beyond the call of duty and usually with little thought to your own well being.

Look at the many guys from the two world wars that kept their bravery medals secret even from their own families.

So yes this guy is a definite hero, getting a necessary job done and then going on with his life. Fantastic stuff.

I could totes do that. With no clothes on and my hands tied behind my back :p
