• Competitor rules

Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK.

THIS IS WHY A 680 IS REQUIRED!!

just downloading the full MP4 thing from the link posted - Youtube seems to stutter no matter how fast my broadband link is when on 1080p - looks very impressive.

Anyone would have thought that pc games net LOSE money the way publishers moan about piracy. I don't remember the last time I bought a console game, but PC games appear on my Xmas list every year....

Keep in mind two things Gibbo, UE3 is being scheduled for the next round of consoles, and will probably be heavily console optimised....... then figure out if it's AMD or Nvidia in those consoles, ALL of them ;)

It's been said, old tech demo vs new tech demo, heavy optimisation and simply lower settings used, likely a memory limit on an old 1.5gb 580gtx vs a 2gb 680gtx at lower settings, non contest.

Mal X, couldn't be more right, decided to give Crysis 2 another go with a 7970, other than the generally low framerate with everything at ultra considering the fairly minimal noticeable increase in IQ with dx11/ultra settings......... the game itself blows and Crytek make stupid choice after stupid choice.

AMD and Nvidia owners alike have all kinds of issues, from the game randomly looking 120hz screens in at 50hz, 60hz screens to 24hz, to overuse of **** effects and underuse of the best ones, zero balance and far to big a performance hit for the Nvidia sabotage.

They make some nice stuff, but generally make so so many mistakes it offsets most of the good :(

Agreed, we don't need another tech demo when gamers know that the real deal will be another console port.

Shocking breaches of health and safety in that vid, burning without safety googles, standing near an unguarded edge without a safety line! I bet he didn't even do a rsik assessment.

Samaritain demo isn't applicable to real time due to the non addaptive tessellation implementation. 680 wouldnt handle playing that in real time unless they have implemented adaptive tess :P (im writing a thesis on it!) defo possible to have it real time though.
