I've just been told cos i'm running 4890 crossfire that the i should use more than 4gigs of ram as the graphics cards will be using system memory...

I'm on windows 7 64 bit.

That's not right is it??
 
Not sure.

However if you were on 32 bit then adding more graphics memory (either changing a card with more mb onboard or adding another card) would reduce the ram the system could see.

I wouldn't worry about the 2 4890's that you have as you are on a 64 bit OS.
