If you could get it for £5k and sell the plate for £800 I don't think it would be too bad a buy. At £6500 though, no

It has a broken rear spring.
Fundamentally I think it is ok, I'm not sure from the advert whether or not nav is included. Being Cat D, early and v high mileage, it's in uncharted waters. But I'd risk it for £5k, bring it back to stock (rear lights, 18" wheels), get rid of the plate - and it would potentially be a nice car to throw around at the weekends and on the track.
Yeah, he talks about removing a 'sound system' from the car prior to sale though - not sure what he means by this.
Could possibly be referring to an amp/sub in boot and aftermarket speakers? Although don't m3's come with harman kardon?
They're still avaliable....today?!Harmon Kardon, those were the days.
if your after a cheap e46 m3, my mate has one for sale, hes english, car is good all round condition 122k miles, full history, 2 keys, 5 owners, silver colour, 19" alloys, hpi clear, 16:9 sat nav tv, leather isnt cracked or ripped, the only problem i know with is the amplifier in the boot has the common fault where 2 speakers dont work and the a/c dont work

Aren't you the one who sells cars (or used to) on ebay with faults and not declare them DannyW?*
