Have not played football games since sega mega drive but after watching the gaming championships on sky2 I am thinking about picking one up :)

So yeah which is the daddy football game atm?:D

How does Fifa play on the PS3. Are we talking as good as the 360 version or EA inspired jerko vision...?

even more impressed, just connected it to my pc via media centre in less than 2 minutes, WMV-HD plays smooth as you like and looks amazing, and thats over wireless!

lol, 8 pages!!

just to let you all know, i got an elite today with forza 2 pes 2008 viva pinate and 2 pads for £320. got a play and charge kit and fifa 2008 aswell :D and its looks amazing, well chuffed!

Made the right decision. Glad you like it. If you really intend to get into forza 2. hook me up on Live! My GT is SPDN Bricktop. managed to put 200 hours in already online so if you need any help with tuning or cars. Just send me a message :). Viva is also pretty sweet too. A sign Rare can still make great games.

well from your first post id say ps3...

racing is pretty much tied i guess, depending on whether you like forza or GT, and your footy games will always be multiformat so that is moot.

rpgs however will be better on ps3

Appart from the fact he can play forza 2 right here and now where as GT5 is most prob 1 year away. Not to mention he has PGR 3+4 to choose from aswell but your post is pointless anyway as he has already made his decision.

It's fan boy posts like this that really irk me.

First; whilst GT may be great it's not out. so we have a demo which is import only vs a fully fledged product.

It's your last statement that bothers me. A throw away 'rpgs will be better on the PS3' statement with nothing to back it up. So he buys a PS3 tomorrow and trots down to pick a rpg up. What is there? Oblivion and a very very poor port of Enchanted Arms. That's it with nothing on the near horizon.

The 360 has Blue Dragon, Eternal Sonata, Enchanted Arms, Mass Effect, Final Fantasy XI, Two Worlds, Phantasy Star Universe and Oblivion. Lost Odyssey is out in Feb, Fable 2 is out end of the year, Too Human comes out Q1 and is an action rpg/diablo game. Then we have Infinite Undiscovery, Cry On, Warhammer Online, Age of Conan, The Precursors, Elveon and many more announced for next year.

edit: I'm not saying the PS3 won't have rpgs and good ones at that, but at the moment it's lagging very very far behind in this genre and this doesn't look like changing any time soon. Yes PS2 > Xbox for rpgs but this generation this isn't happening.

Racing I'd say was easily better on Xbox360. RPG's possibly better on Xbox360 as Final Fantasy hasn't set the world alight since the 90's and Mass Effect is excellent (and some of the future ones look awesome).
I agree with Sports games though.

Bah, read Abooie's post, he's the RPG legend.
