So a few days ago my 7900GT fan stopped working.

I put a replacement fan on top of the original (didn't remove the old fan or anything still got warranty)

The thing is my 120mm fan that is directly sat on the heatsink/broken GPU fan is cooling it a lot better than the default fan, talkin' 10-15 degrees lower here.

So my predicament is (stupid or not) should I bother RMA'ing it? this 120mm fan is being held against the card perfectly stable and is cooling it better.

Or am I a total idiot for even considering keeping the card with the broken fan?

The default fan was about 67 degrees on idle this is with the Sunbeam fan attached:

Email Card manufacturer and they usually send out a replacement Heat-Sink/Fan for free. When I had my Ti4600 the fan broke twice and gainward sent out replacements for free even when the card was 3 years old..

Ah, I'll try that, never thought of asking for a replacement fan.

Also heres some pics how the fan is being held up hehe.

Don't wanna pay money to send it off and I'll be bored waiting :D

just cool it,

you have already so chill

in fact go one better and get a VF900 on it at once and start clocking it!

;)

Contacted ASUS and asked if I can get a new fan, hopefully all goes well, the card was bought over 28 days ago so I'm really not wanting to RMA it, I've had products take quite a while if bought over 28 days sadly, was a boring wait with no PC.
