This Memory okay ?

Hi all was thinking of giving my rig a boost of ram I have a p6t deluxe mobo and 6gb installed already would there be any conflict with this added:Corsair Vengeance 12GB (3x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Triple Channel Kit as overclockers have it on special?
And is there a better memory boost i could give it?

What kind of applications/tasks are you running that will need that much memory? 6GB should be plenty for most operations. Perhaps redirecting the funds elsewhere depending on your specific needs might be better, say an SSD or imporved graphics.

Already have an hd6950 gpu and a ssd.

Was looking to use mostly for games.

I think you have plenty with 6GB at the moment. Are you finding any particular games performing poorly?

No game can possibly use anywhere near 18GB of RAM.

The vast majority don't use more than 4GB to remain compatible with 32bit systems.

The money would go half way towards another 6950.

Probably.

600W is marginal for two 6950's.

The PSU in that system only has 2 PCI-E power connectors for graphics cards and you need 4. You could try using adapters from molex connectors but this isn't ideal.

So wattage a bit light and not enough PCI-E connectors.
