This normal? 11900k Boosting to just 4.799 MHz?

Just installed this CPU and was wondering if the fact it is only boosting to 4.8GHz under load is normal? BIOS is currently at default settings. Temp never exceeded 36°C during a Time Spy benchmark due to an NZXT Kraken X62

FYI Time Spy score is 15247 (default settings which I guess was 1440p as it does not support Ultrawide)

CPU frequency = 4,799MHz
GPU frequency = 1,743MHz (Average)
Max CPU temp = 36°C
Max GPU temp = 68°C

The CPU cooling clearly does not need looking at really but I will work on the GPU temp a little to see if I can get that a little lower.

This is normal, but the CPU temperature seems unlikely.

Is this your top speed before it quits on you or is it the auto overclock as it may be tied to other settings. Try manually over clocking.

HWINFO shows 37°C while running Time Spy (yes I know this does not stress the CPU) only did quick gaming test earlier, done a little more now and it levelled out at 50°C ish with silent fan curves so I can bring that down a bit. My OP was regarding my CPU frequency anyway, just wanted to know if it was OK.

All core Frequency on the 11900K is 4.7Ghz, 4.8Ghz with Thermal Velocity Boost.

You only get 5.2Ghz on 2 cores, or again 5.3Ghz Thermal Velocity Boost

Not got any experience with these later gen Intels sadly. But does this help at all?

There is a section that details how the boost works and they have an 11900k specific section also.
Reading that it looks like something is stopping it from going higher, could be a power issue maybe as I only have an 850w PSU:

Taken from that link you posted:
"What this means is that, if all 8 cores are loaded, TB2 means that it will run at 4.7 GHz. If there is power budget and thermal budget, it will attempt 4.8 GHz. If there is more power budget and thermal budget available, it will go to 4.9 GHz, then 5.0 GHz, then 5.1 GHz. The frequency will float as long as it has enough of those budgets to play with, and it will increase/decrease as necessary. This is important as different instructions cause different amounts of power draw and such."

I assume that even with more power most systems wouldn't have the thermal headroom to boost much higher unless they were properly water cooled.
