.

Isn't the OcUk on the same as the BFG one but without all the extra games for a lower price??

Instead of...

BFG GeForce 7900 GTX OC 512MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-017-BG)
Price: £299.95 (£352.44 Including VAT at 17.5%)

...I would like to suggest...

OcUK GeForce 7900 GTX 512MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-038-OK)
Price: £269.95 (£317.19 Including VAT at 17.5%)

...for a saving of £35.25, but if you want much better bang-for-buck, I would suggest...

Sapphire ATI Radeon X1900 XT 512MB GDDR3 AVIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-112-SP)
Price: £221.95 (£260.79 Including VAT at 17.5%)

...since it performs just the same for much less cost, for a further saving of £91.65.

I would also recommend one of these...

Zalman VF900-CU Quiet Copper VGA Cooler (SY-008-ZA)
Price: £20.95 (£24.62 Including VAT at 17.5%)

...to cool it, since the stock cooler is very noisy and doesn't actually cool the card much.

With both you would still make a saving of £67.03 over buying the 7900GTX you were looking at, and losing absolutely no performance whatsoever. In fact, you'd be gaining much better image quality as current ATi graphics cards offer high-quality anisotropic filtering, 6x antialiasing, and the ability to do FP32 HDR and antialiasing at the same time, which Nvidia cards cannot do. :)

Thats what I was saying :)

?!?!?! if you have (x16,x4) is it to do with just the speeds i.e. its not really 2x pci-e x16 or does it mean smt else?

that's a remarkably similar list as to what i'm planning to order to go with my already pre-ordered conroe! Looks very good, though you seem to have 2 x ystech 120mm fans and 2 x zalman 120mm fans, don't you only need 2 in that case?

id think about goin ATI as they seem to be getting a lot btter and more powerful than the nvidia cards and do HDR and AA at same time not sure if nvidia have done that yet used to only have one at a time.

You're correct. Current Nvidia graphics cards cannot render FP32 blended HDR and antialiasing at the same time, they can only render the FP16(?) HDR as used in Half Life 2 at the same time as antialiasing.

We don't even have any idea if the upcoming G80 GPU will support FP32 HDR and antialiasing, but all Radeon X1800 and X1900 graphics cards can do it easily, and without a doubt the R600 GPUs will also be able to do it too..

Thanks for the help so far, i've changed it to what has been said so far - removed 2x spare fans + changed gfx to x1900xt + cooling fan for it. how much should i set aside for the motherboard do you guys think i was guessing ~ £150 but i think from looking at the one's on pre-order atm it'll be ~£200. I am gunna spend half of it myself, and my parents are paying the other half i think so its just for me to see how to divide the cost up :D

Bfz ;_;

Your parents are paying for half the PC?!

Asus P5B (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard (MB-151-AS)

They seem to overclock well, just need to see how well the Conroes will go and what voltages they will run at. Spending over £150 on a mobo though is a little overkill with all these wireless remotes and gimmicks though IMO

yeah ! see i thought it was a pretty gd arrangement fuz. anyways i noticed that about that board i am still tempted to wait it out a bit because apart from the Asus theres DFI/Gigabyte and i like the asus a bit more than either of those for the time being.

I agree I would wait to see what motherboards come out mate closer to Conroes release :)
