So ive just built my new pc.

Gigabyte z690 board
I5 12600KF

Yet it can't run Windows 11 I'm crying

That's the message I'm presented with during Windows set up. Not the crying part.

Why can't things be simple!

Any ideas please.

I'm begging.
 
This is what happened. I started Windows setup and chose clean install. But got a message saying Windows can't be installed on drive 1 partition 1 which is a m.2 drive. So I went into the bios and enabled csm support. Changed storage boot option from legacy to uefi. Tried to install windows but after I select Windows 11 Pro from the list the next screen said this device does not meet the requirements for Windows 11. Looking at trusted computing in the bios now and it says...tpm20 device found, security device support enabled, pending operation- none, platform hierarchy enabled, storage hierarchy enabled, endorsement hierarchy enabled, physical spec version 1.3, tpm 20 interface type ptt, device select auto and disable block sid disabled.

This is totally strange because I changed usb from uefi to legacy and it went past the incompatible message but under storage options there was no drives available in windows setup, yet if I went to load driver I could select my nvme drive from a list? So I plugged in a sata ssd and now I'm installing Windows 11 onto IT?
 
Sounds like your NVME drive needs formatting to Windows file format, can you stick it in another PC? It probably needs a quick format to NTFS, then your Windows 11 ISO may see it.

Otherwise, it is something else.

In my bios z690 I pressed F2 to enable advanced mode. Settings/miscellaneous/trusted computing/security device support/enable

Then go to boot enable and csm support and I changed storage boot option to uefi and other pci devices to uefi.

Also my nvme drive only seems to work in the m2 slot furthest from the cpu.
 
Do a search for editing the registry to bypass the install checks. You can do this after booting from a USB stick with the Win11 ISO written to it.

One way to get an install of Windows 11 to play with.

I wouldn't worry too much, peeps upgrade to win 11, then use 3rd party software to make it look like win 10 again.:p
 
CSM should be disabled for full UEFI support. I also turned off Secure Boot and the TPM and then used Rufus to make a USB stick of Windows 11 that removed the checks. Then assuming you don't want to keep any data just delete all partitions and start clean.
 
The more amusing one is people slating Windows 7 on the one hand including how it looks, but then you find them using all kinds of 3rd party software to make 10//1 look and behave like 7..............
