A quick question,

atm i have my router downstairs next to my modem and a 30m cat6 cable going upstairs to a switch which has my htpc and 360 connected to it. Is it possible to swap the switch around with my router and have the router setup for wireless upstairs.

VM Superhub - switch - cat6 cable - router(E3000)

Also i have my media server connected to my router, if i swap the router/switch around will i still be able to access my shared folders on my network?

You can swap the switch and router around but only if you run the superhub as a router. If you put the superhub into modem mode then it has to be directly connected to the router. Also once you move the router make sure you don't plug anything into it's WAN port, as it won't be routing anything between networks.

thanks for help.

I would prefer not to use the superhub as a router as it didn't work well the first time i used it as a router.

What about a Edimax EW-7438RPN wi-fi extender, would this rely on the quality of the electric cable through the house?
