This program was dowloaded from the interent

I have downloaded Firefox for Mac.

However after a reboot the first time I open the program I get the following message:

"Firefox is an applicaion which was downloaded from the Internet. Are you sure that you want to open it?"

Is there a way I can supress this message as it is really anoying?

It only does it once (I.e. the first time you run a program) so surely it isn't that big an issue?

It's just a safety to make sure you don't download something you weren't meant to and run it. As said, it's only the first time - surely you don't download that many programs to run once?

Yup, it used to annoy me, as I thought I'd installed the app incorrectly! But as people are rightly saying, it only occurs once and its just Mac OS Xs way of telling you that it loves you and is looking out for you..
