The only way to get decent FPS on Crysis

what a load of ********.

I'm happily playing with everything on medium at 65fps with my system below (the main rig, not the eee :D), and its still playable on high at an average of 30-34fps (1440x900).

If you really want to spend £3500 quid on a system which most games including crysis won't even recognise, go ahead. Personally i'm quite content with my £500 rig. :p

some people aim higher than medium settings @ 1440x900 :o

how the hell doesnt that burst in to flames and take the entire building with it. they must not get any airflow at all

and we come back to crysis again, a pretty ordinary fps with fanky visuals, but a pretty crap game.

So basically they are using some sort of custom drivers to use the GPUs as small CPUs to proccess the Tomography data.... thats actualy quite cool.

It's the game that needs most computing power, thats the only reason.

yes i agree with that, people went and spent mad money to play one game which isnt that good gameplay wise. unlike cod4 for example a game that has mass appeal, doesnt need a powerhouse rig to run it. that way more pc gamers have access to such a game. to me thats the beauty of the cod series on pc, theyre very scaleable. for example my brother runs an old a64 4000 rig with a stock 8800gts 640mb that i gave him, plays cod 4 on medium settings and its still enjoyable. personally i think crysis is to far ahead for its time.

The performance they are getting out of it is unreal as well, it renders it faster than their 512 node Operon Supercomputer worth millions according to their website

HAHA what a lad - I'd love to see his girlfriend! :D

And what is up with the playmobil guy they do a close up of?

the cpu / mb combination is just keeping the cards ticking over. the main work is being done by the GPU's and i dont think its possible to cram 4 of these bloody things on an intel board

Intel & Nvidia boards won't be able to use 4 double slot cards as there's not enough room between the PCIE slots. the K9Aplat 2 has double spacing betewwn all the PCI-E16 slots so large cards can fit onto the board
