my mate wants a cheap PC building for internet browsing, some photo editing and for his g/f to play her games on (Syberia 2, Sims). He may occasionally want to play some newer FPS games but isnt fussed about top notch graphics as long as its playable.

He has been looking at:

AMD Athlon 64 3000 Retail / Asus A8N-E / 1GB Geil PC3200 Dual Channel Kit - Bundle (BU-015-OK) £199.57

He has already got the case, HDD etc but needs advice on whether the above would be enough to cope with his needs. He also needs graphics cards advice, good as possible for around the £100 mark.

Any help gratefully received!!

HIS Excalibur ATI Radeon X1600 XT ICEQ Turbo 256MB DDR3 AVIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (RX1600XT-256ICEQT) (GX-051-HT)

£100 smackers and should, I guess, overclock like a puppy. (Does that make sense? no, oh well)

Should be good enough for anything I run:
HL2, FEAR, Far Cry, NFS:MW, BF2, CS:S, Quake 4

But don't expect it to be very future proof as I know that my machine is starting to struggle and these will be similar ish in spec.
