looking at building a new rig (custom water cooled)

Iv got not problem in building systems as i did use to do it about 4 years ago but then got a new job and got lazy.

But i have never done a water cooled system before .

I already have a top notch fast PC but its boring and cant do anything with it .

I actually got the alienware pretty cheap as firnd bought it and then moved to Australia1 month aftetr owning it last march .

now as the warranty is up in 2 weeks i can now just do with it as i please .

i will be selling the case and x79 mobo ,ram (dell ram) cpu cooler .and PSU.

only thing im using out of it is the CPU and GFX cards and X-FI titanium, and the 2x Momentus XT drives and my own 2 x 256 830 SSD drives and my own Ram 16gb Corsair Vengeance LP black 1600mhz.

what i already got :
i7 3820 (already using inside alienware R4)
2 x 680 reference cards (will be water cooled) only 1 being used in alienware
16gb corsair vengeance black LP 1600mhz 4x4
2x 256 Samsung 830 SSD
2x500gb Momentus XT

To buy
OcUK Tech Lab - V12 Watercooled Case - Corsair 800D
2 x 680 Waterblocks and fitting.
Evga x79 SLI
Evga Supernova NEX 750 gold plus (dont know if this will be enough to power everything)

Im only choosing to buy the EVGA board as i have found it cheap .

£135 cheap ..is it a good board ? (only stop gap for when IB-E gets released)

is there better boards for same price ?

I like the deal involving the 800D and the V12 watercooling ..will look amazing. very pricy and probably could make it work out cheaper buying other stuff . but this being my first water cooled pc im being lazy and i just dont know what to but in terms of sizes of all the water cooling stuff.

and i already used to own The corsair 800D in my last ever build (X58 Rampage II extrme) and sold to a friend when i had the alienware.

and its best case i have ever owned and i have had a lot of cases .

to be honest most cases that are plastic just look cheap .

the QUESTIONS

1) Can someone tell me what i need to purchase with the water blocks ?

I.E fittings that will go with the v12 kit that will be inside the 800D case.

2) when i order the case would it be possible to not have the fans that come with the V12 and have the Corsair SP120 Performance Series High Pressure (CO-9050008-WW) instead ?? will need 3 but will pay for the 4 as they come in packs of 2 .

3) if i purchase the 2 waterblocks together with the case will the techs instal the waterblocks or is this to much as i would need to instal them onto the cards myself . or will they just not bleed it and just let me bleed it once i put blocks on cards .

im only asking as in the description of the v12 and 800D it does say i can add waterblock .

thanks guys

maybe this can be a progress thread as looking to buy all the stuff within a month to 6 weeks

You will need to buy adiditional fittings (2 per card) a bit of extra tubing (a meter max) best off if you tell sales about this and they can add it to the watercooling kit so you get the same stuff

2) when i order the case would it be possible to not have the fans that come with the V12 and have the Corsair SP120 Performance Series High Pressure (CO-9050008-WW) instead ?? will need 3 but will pay for the 4 as they come in packs of 2 .

ofcourse it is again speak to sales about it and they can change anything in the spec

It can be done again speak to sales allthough we need you to send us your motherboard and graphics cards to do it we can't fit two graphics cards blocks without knowing the exact layout and they would need holding in place. The better option is that we fit the rad res cooler and core bits and leave the loop open for you to do the last part.
thanks guys

hi

that was quick . Thank you

I would be interested in sending in my cards and mobo , thats if i dont buy the mobo from here .

does it cost much more for them to fit the blocks to the cards and what not ?

there may be a charge involved best to either speak to 5ub in the customer service section of the forum or ring sales directlt

We can sort a quote/order for you via phone if you need. :)

That will be cool , i wont have funds for a while yet as its a lot of money for me at the minute ..will be about 6 weeks.

got to get car through MOT this month lol

I suppose ringing for a quote now wont hurt ..will ring in a few days .

I will actually have funds for the case and water cooling next week (£450), its all other bits that i want i haven't got at the minute .

I used to buy all my stuff from a certain shop based in Bolton , NOT NOW.

there customer service over the last 2 years as gone form 100% down to 20%.

they take your money and then never want to deal with you.

will start buying from overclockers from now on ..

this forum too is great .!!!

Hay guys , iv changed my mind on the 800D v12 ..

I never gave the 900D much thought , but now im sold on 900D ..

you think there could be pre-orders for the 900D and v12 ??

i would pre-order straight away if it meant if it was only an extra £60 compared to the price of the 800D v12 .

June cant come quick enough
