Hi,
I was just wandering if this spec ok for an upgrade? not sure whether to go for quad or dual cores?
Is the graphics card ok? or is there a better alternative for around the same same price range (+/-£20)?

will my thermaltake XaserIII case take all this ok??

I believe the RAM is abit... Get 6400, you won't notice a diffrence in speed, but your wallet will be fatter.
Not sure about the card, wait a week or two and see what the new releases do to prices.

That c2d is quite old now, maybe replace for the a quad core like the q6600 or one of the c2d wolfdales.
Unless seriously overclocking get DDR2 6400.
Also the new ATi cards are due within the next 10 or so days, and i would wait for them to see how they compare because the ATi 4850 in some of the reviews is proving to quite a preformer and should cost few quid less.

CPU: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showp...SLACR 95W Edition" 2.40GHz (1066FSB) - Retail
RAM: Really a choice of yours, G.Skill/Corsair/OCZ are all good at the moment. For me i would go for the G.Skill as i think they clock a little better.
GPU: Umm the ATi 4850 im hoping to be £130, or the 4870 to be around 200-220 or something.
Motherboard: umm dont know mmuch about the P45 but some of the reviews look promising.
