OCZ 4GB Kit (2x2GB) DDR2 800MHz
Asus P5N-E SLI 650i
Intel C2D E2200

Looking to overclock, obviously, this ok? Can anyone reccomend me a decent quiet cpu cooler.

The reason I put down the e2200 is because of it's high multi I have the chance of getting the best overclock, considering it's only a few quid more.

If you can, pick up a Thermalright Ultra 120 or even better would be one of the DHT heatsinks as sold by OCZ and Xigamtek, none of which OCUK stock =/

Pay some more and get a guaranteed overclock on the RAM:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showp...2GB) CAS5 Dual Channel Kit (F2-8000CL5D-4GBPQ)

Unlike the old DDR2 1GB chips there isn't an equivalent to D9s with 2GB sticks, so you can't buy DDR800 knowing they'll overclock amazingly anymore

And a different motherboard for sure.
Either a P35 or P45 for single GPU solutions.
Also personally the tuniq tower is extorianiate price and deffiantly would buy something else. But the Freezer 7 is still a good price but not rated as top cooling and apparantly noisey when the fan is at 50% and above.
Personally i would recommend the Xigmatek HDT-S1283 which can be had for 22 quid + p & p.

sli board an e2xx ??
just get e7200 and ga p35ds3l.
tha will be a lot better setup, there i no point SLIng or spending more than 60 for mobo on anything lower than e8400 .

part it with 4gb geil blck dragon or some
good gskils, slap tuniq tower on top and u get a nice 3.6+ OC for no money.
cheap cpu + expensive mobo wont work

I don't have any real interest in overclocking the ram, 400mhz fsb is fine for me.

The ga p35ds3l doesn't appear to support pci 2.2, which I need for my scsi array.

regarding your original question, a dual core e2xxx series only needs a Arctic cooling freezer 7 pro to cool it.

Rather get an intel chipset, the intel p5k works well.

If you do go for a 120 extreme you will have to most likely lap it. I had to with my Black version but with 2 Noctua NF-P12 on it's near whisper quite and has an OC E8500 at idle occurding to the new coretemp/realtemp at 32C, buut it is a big cooler though and you woun't be able to use a side window fan an a 900 gamer with both fans installed.
