This stupid mouse business

Ok, Apple Magic Mouse died so I went and got the Logitech Performance MX Darkfield.

It feels nicely in the hand but what I can't get used to is the scroll wheel. I remember with the old Logitech Mouse when I flick the scroll wheel really fast it turns itself into a free wheel and the pages on screen will just fly. It just doesn't do it with this and I can't figure out how!

It is bugging me so much that I am tempted to go get a Cyborg R.A.T 7 Contagion (or the regular one) just to see if that is any better.

doesnt the button in front of the scroll wheel change the wheel's operation? if it's not free-scrolling then it's probably faulty

It either clicks or free flow.

The Old Logitech evolution can go from regular click to free flow just because i flip it faster and then slows down to click.

Can you press the mouse wheel down & then scroll quick. Down as in into the mouse down.

Need to click the button under the scroll wheel to free it.

i know this maybe a stupid question but have you checked setting in Setpoint?

Also not liking the tilt on the mouse to side screen. It needs too much pressure...

my g9 doesnt actively change modes and to the best of my knowledge none of the other hyper-scrolling logitech mice do either. I think you might be out of luck there.

Yup, no options on there either.

I am on OSX though, not sure if its different to windows.

As much as the Apple Mouse suck in terms of form, the features on it I have gotten to like.

The flip and scroll on it is very smooth and fast. It feels like going backwards with this click and tilt wheel.

Returned it...it's not even that accurate either.....plus my Magic Mouse decides to work again. lol
