After much reading and research about the Intel vs AMD topic I've deicieded on the Intel i5 760 for my next upgrade.

I know some of you are going to say get the sandybridge but the motherboards are more than the i5 motherboards and i've already stetched my budget with the below build.....

Can some of you peeps in the know tell me if i've made any mistakes with any of the components here....i'm looking for a half decent overclock on air.

Intel Core i5 760 2.80GHz (Lynnfield) (Socket LGA1156)

Gigabyte GA-P55-USB3 Intel P55 (Socket 1156) DDR3 Motherboard

Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit

Akasa AK-CCX-4002HP Venom CPU Cooler (Socket LGA1156)

I was going to use the stock fan with the Venom, see what happens and go from there.

I can always add another fan at a later date :)

Is that memory fine for overclocking? Its a lot cheaper than the 'Dominators' and 'Ripjaws' etc......

sandybridge setup

Gigabyte P67A-UD3 Intel P67 Chipset (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard - (Sandybridge) = £100

Intel i5 2500k Sandybridge = £185

Corsair XMS3 4GB = 36

==== £321

Sandybridge worth the extra £40 over a i5 760 setup?

Thanks for all the advice, I've made my first ever order from OCUK..

Gigabyte P67A-UD3 Intel P67 Chipset (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard - (Sandybridge) = £100

Intel i5 2500k Sandybridge = £185

Corsair XMS3 4GB = 36

Should be a nice upgrade from my AMD 5000+ 4GB/800Mhz RAM system :D
