Rang up today to see if there was any logs and was told they don't do them anymore.

They have stopped cutting to length that produce the logs and now they only have lengths but not sure if they are full trunk or sliced down middle - They range from 3 - 5ft in length and cost 35 quid a ton.

Only got an Electric chain saw and sold my splitter Grrrr

Where abouts in Shropshire are you?

ARRichards do massive amounts of logs for burning and are based around the Market Drayton area but they deliver all over.

£35 a ton is cheap! I'm on the edge of the Hafren Forest and had to pay £40.

I'm guessing from what they have said to you that this will be full round lengths and they will have a minimum order amount. Mine turns up on a artic with a log crane, 25 ton at a time..

These are still off cuts but in lengths of 3 to 5ft - Don't ask what they are now doing I don't know but that trailer load cost me £12 and those were £40 a ton - All I had to do was go and load them up - No work to do other than stack them.

I had a load from Market Drayton and when came to stack it there was electric poles in it and wood from bottom of pile that was dust almost.

I will make one trip to look at this wood and see - Then will have to buy cut wood locally.

I knew it would have to end one day and that off cut wood has kept we warm for last 20 odd years - I borrowed a flat bed Transit once and got two ton on it for £10 - good old days :)

Sold my chainsaws and splitter when I moved - now got Aldi electric chainsaw and axe and grenade.

I am really to old to be cutting and splitting that's why those off cuts were great.

Just found a load of hardwood halfway down log store and I am certain the softwood off cuts are hotter.
