Alex Kidd in Miracle World

Yep, I've taken time out from the amazing graphics of Gears of War, the intense and almost life like AI of FEAR, the massive worlds of Oblivion, for a bit of 8bit Alex Kidd goodness

And the worrying thing is, its such a fun game to play and drawing me away from my PC games and my 360. I remember playing it as a kid, and never being able to complete it. So the other day, we dusted off the master system we got a while ago pre owned, and said we're not leaving the room til its completed.

We never did it :o :(, but I had so much fun, so I've been playing it pretty much all day for the last 2 days trying to finish it

Its so simple, 2 buttons, punch of jump, yet its just really nice to play. Just goes to show that you dont need graphics for a game to be fun

Hoping they release this and the others on the back catalogue for the Wii, would be awesome

So have you dug out any old classics lately?

Oh my god, this game was installed in my Master System when I had it, so boot it up with no game in and you got Alex Kidd.

I LOVED it so much.
Playing Paper, Scissors, Rock against the bosses, classic gaming :)

I got a SNES and 20 games for £25 recently so have had some NBA Jam and Mario nights :)

Yeah thats the one

I remember as a kid thinking the Rock Paper Scissors matches were so tough, but now you realise there the same all the time :p so its a bit easy

But the games so cool, looks like its been done in paint. The soundtrack is just.......annoying but one of those you'll never forget

ive just been out and bought the entire gta 3 series to play on my xbox 360 since im coming to the end of saints row

never did spend much time on them cos it took me away from the wife so now we kinda both play them :D

also got simpsons hit and run at the same time for the sproglets :D

btw alex kidd rox :D

Haha I LOVED this game too, was so hard though, I remember it getting me really mad because my sister could get further on it than I could :( It was her master system though :D

Did you ever play the one where you're in a house? I think with that, if you die then thats it, you have to start over. The only way I remember dying was turning a computer on and it electrocuted me (I think)

Yep i have even done a bit of old skool retro gaming myself, in form of quake 3 arena OSP CTF. Anyone ever play that?

i remember Alex Kid well, completed it also, was when i was in bedsit with my pregnent wife as we was waiting for rehousing by the council many moons ago, must be 15 years ago.

I had this game built into my Sega Master System 1 my mate had a Master System with dif games built one was a motorbike game I think on his. At the end of the game there was some strange puzzle to resolve before you could complete the game. I only finished the game once man it was hard but realy fun.

Great game, but I never managed to complete it.

However, I did manage to complete Wonder Boy III. That took bloody ages to get through!

My cousin owned Alex Kidd, loved it but never completed it, always lost at the rock/paper/scissors :o

Favourite Alex Kidd game though would have to be Alex Kidd in Shinobi World.
Never owned it, but rented and completed it countless times :D

I completed the alex kidd for the mega drive (think its the 3rd one) many times for sega while testing. It really annoyed me at first though, was rather hard.
