This week only price drop on Intel C2D

well i am a very happy bunny got a QX6700 of an auction site for £460inc... and the offical price has only gone down bye £24 inc VAT.

Grey stock basically just annoys the companies who supply product to certain regions of the world and it then gets sold into a different market. Hp for example used to make a huge deal about grey imports, trying to take official UK dealers to court over breaking contracts etc.

However the reason most places do this is because it is often cheaper to source stock from abroad and sometimes easier to get a hold of if it is not in such high demand. Also not official dealers can buy in grey stock from distro's and sell it cheaper than offical retailers etc.

There is no difference betweeen the product and it in no way affects your warranty before anyone says it does. It's basically just a ploy to make you think twice about buying cheaper stock from elsewhere.

Oh and Gibbo if your prices are not gonna come down anymore, then you are already being undercut in several places by non grey importers.

I'm in the same boat as you. Desperate to upgrade to C2D, have the money & like a little kid don't know if i can bare waiting any longer for a perhaps only a few quid (E4400).

Chances are the prices will be similar to what they are now to reflect the price drops anyway.... or maybe even lower !

Lets face it if they knew that Intel were going to drop the prices on these CPU's next week, then why not pre-empt them an dstick them on a "this week only offer", its not as if they're going to lose anything from it !!
