I was going to go for the Kingston Hyperex Grey DDR3 8Gb but the price has gone up again by about £10.

Of course this makes the 12Gb offer look more attractive......

I intend to buy the Asrock Extreme 4 Gen 3 MoBo - just checking that it will take 3 sticks O.K. and the memory doesn't have to be paired.

Or is there a better offer for 8Gb of equivalent memory?
Needs to be low profile.

12 Gb is for X58 / triple channel.

You dont want to run 3 modules on a dual channel board like a Z68, you want a kit of 2, or 4 modules so it runs in dual channel mode.

The 12 Gb kingston kit is also rated for 1.6-1.7v. This is absolutely no good for Z68 which needs 1.5v ram.
