Any one got this yet? what do you think.

I Like it, its like some of his more odd Radiohead stuff but on a simpler dimension which in my opinion makes it easier to listen to.

Definately a grower and engrossingly creepy, like the man himself.

I've got this, Harrowdown Hill and The Eraser are two of my favourites from what i've heard so far :) The panning on Harrowdown Hill is lovely :D His voice seems to be weaker than what it was with Radiohead though, which is a bit of a gripe for me.

I think it's great. Nice to chill to, and exactly what I expected from Yorke: minimalistic electronica.
By miminalist electronica, do you mean 'Idioteque' style? That was aweful, most artists into 'dance' or something similar could write a more interesting tune in their sleep.

Please tell me its not like that..... *sigh*

Yes it's like Kid A, that's what makes it great. And you're wrong by the way.
How can my oppinion be wrong? But, I will accept you dissagree.

I'm sorry, but I find Idioteque an immencely dull and uninventive song compared to pretty much all other electronic music, even though my knowledge of the genre is exceptionally limited (I only know mainstream 'dance' really, such as Prodigy). I hope I'm wrong, but it seems people like that song simply because its radiohead... despite being a pretty bland beat and having 'average' slapped all over it.

The Clock song you linked to was more enjoyable... but alas, still sounded a bit average.

The song isn't one of the best on Kid A to be honest. But it works within the album, and only sounds a little tired now because it's been overplayed. And you'll just have to accept I'm always right.

At least its better than the awefully awful Kid A, aghhh... my god that is so aweful. I really dislike that whole album, I find very few of it actually works. Only one or two songs can hold my attention. But I will stop derailing the topic.

By the strength of that clocks song, I will not be buying the album.

And from now on I am going to take that you are always wrong ;)

had this for about 7 weeks now, don't really rate it, but then again i only like Pablo Honey, the Bends & OK computer

A strong album, but I haven't been overly excited by it. It feels like a selection of outtakes from the Kid A sessions, rather than a further working of the sound like Amnesiac was. I know it should stand on its own, but it doesn't move far enough away sonically to avoid judging it on the basis of those releases. As a fan of Kid A/Amnesiac I am really fond of the sounds employed in it, though I'm not a big enough fan of Yorke alone and his political agenda to rate it as highly as those other two albums.

Highlight for me from the first couple of spins is Analyse; doesn't strike at first, but slowly builds into a very fine track.

Idioteque's one of my favourite tracks off Kid A, partly for being pretentious enough to sample Paul Lansky. Wouldn't find me dancing to it though .

Don't know if anyone saw the Harrowdown Hill video last night, that's a great song. "We think the same things at the same time, we just can't do anything about it"- great line.

I find I can't just sit and listen to it.

Its great in the car though. (yes I know you are sitting whilst driving)

I'm a big Yorke fan and I wasn't sure about this at first. However, it grew on me so much on repeated listens, and now I love it. It has quite a unique rawness to it - mainly due to the lack of reverb that you'd probably expect on the vocals in this sort of electronic style. Instead it creates a somewhat different feel. I also thought it was cool how Thom created his loops and sounds - by creating glitches and errors and then arranging them in to rhythmic patterns.

Make sure you check out the live performances of The Clock and Cymbal Rush on YouTube, they're great.

Harrowdown Hill - Check out the new video.

For me Analyse, Harrowdown hill and The Eraser are just brilliant tracks, and could well be up there with some Kid A/Amnesiac tracks. I love the more electronic direction, wish Radiohead would get back to that. I am not as inspired as I was with Kid A, maybe because we have heard this style before, maybe because its just Yorke alone I am unsure, its just missng something.

This is the only one to describe it for me.

"Electronic psychedelic space jazz" at it's best.

I don`t think this album is one that grows on people though, if you can't understand the methods, reasons and strangeness of Radiohead or Thom Yorke as a person then I'm not sure you'll understand this album at all, it's very very political and almost tearful in some places but the talent that Thom has is so emense it picks you up and thaws you out somewhat.
10/10 from me. ;)

got it a couple of days ago and very pleased with my purchase.

i really enjoyed the odd radiohead stuff so pleased that he has taken some of it with him to his own album

very easy album to listen to you when your just reading or studying
