Those Kef cresta 3's

My brother got some for xmas (I bought myself the Q5's, love KEF) and they're suprisingly good. The Crestas are excellent value, but obviously there're better speakers out there (at higher prices).
 
I use Cresta 1's for my rear channel, similar drive units etc.... they are smooth, clean sounding no nasties, quite natural sounding, and reveal the quality of the equipment plugged into them..... The 3's at £79 looks quite a good deal. (I paid £50 for my 1's BTW)
 
I had a pair of the Kresta 30s (predecessor), and rather liked them. For a new pair of speakers, they're good value for money.
 
Do you reckon these Cresta 3 would be better than my Gale Gold Monitor Audio? In what way? As I amtempted by that deal there, I paid £99 for my gales in '03.

I have a set of Tannoy Mercury M2's just now, do you reckon they will better (or match even) the sound?

Tannoys are about 10 years old but were award winners (What Hi-Fi :o ) in there day.
