Those 'Sad Days' in your Computer Owning/Gaming Life.

Waiting for Formula 1 for the original PS to come out in 1995. I thought the game was amazing for its time but now it looks like turd :D

Swg CU & NGE ruined one of my fave games of all time :(

UKTFR(united kingdom team fortress radio) closing it's doors due to changes in law.

Dreamcast dying so early in it's life :(

Playing Powerdrive, old rally game on my 486 - was doing a killer lap, when the game crashed.........Was so far ahead, almost finished it.

I did actually shout at the computer and my mum came down to see what all the fuss was about, was only 4 or 5 :D

A funny time was watching my mate Neil go mad and stab his commador 64 with a pair of kitchen sissors and the throw it out of his bedroom window !

It crashed whilst loading a game ! total looney he was!
We where only about 10 years old.

That scared me and I didn't really hang about with him much after that nor did many others as he developed anger issues !

Today that would be called 'Loading Rage' and the newspapers would be blaming it for all the worlds ills.

Read Error B was the nightmare load error for an Amstrad. Usually it meant RIP cassette... :(

While I'm here I would also like to ask Sir Alan Sugar (if he's lurking ;) ) why he allowed the CPC to have it's volume control located on the side of the computer, barely one centimetre away from the power on/off switch... Serious expletives would result from an error of finger placement!

Not getting the slip of paper in Privateer 2 that told you how to work around a bug that took you a up dead end in the plot.

After restarting I got as far as Chris Walken's character recruiting me and then when I tried to take off again the screen filled with hex like a lousy black and white version of the Matrix. :(
Tried about half a dozen times but always crashed at the same point. Never finished Priv 2.

Leaving my old Amiga 500 in my old flat in Edinburgh 8 years ago after getting a AMD 400Mhz PC with 4 Meg onboard graphics card, cutting edge back then, which I completely forgot about, to this day I still pine for it, and a decent game of Elite again.....

World Of Warcraft for brainwashing the world.

Responsible for turning good people in to thoughtless selfish ****s, clans that had been going for eons disappeared over night...

picking up wing commander: kilrathi saga priced at £12, not really knowing what it was so thinking "i don't need that" and putting it back. instead i bought wing commander 1 & 2 on classic which, after spending days trying to get running at the correct speed on my lightening fast (for the time!) 1997 pc, i gave up on.
then i found out that kilrathi saga was optimized for win95 so would have run perfect and goes for over £100!

damn it!

Here's mine.

Commodore Amiga/CD32 being sold to Escom and then onto Gateway etc.... Then dying altogether. Possibly my saddest moment.

My 4mb Voodoo card dying. :( *however was replaced with 2x12mb VoodooII SLI goodness :D*

3Dfx going **** up. :(

nVidia driver hell. *still have this. Can I have one set that just works with everything please?*

Troika Games going **** up.

Half Life 2 *Was expecting something good. Sadly disapointed*

Battlefield Vietnam/2/2142 *Was expecting an improvement over BF1942*

Desert Combat *Was fun for a while...until they got Capture the flag working and it all went to hell as CTF is cack in DC*

Xen in Half Life

No more Geoff Crammond Grand Prix games :(

Oh... and worst of all... The current poor quality of games being all style over content. I'd rather have a game that looks like Elite but gives me enormous amounts of pleasure to play and satisfaction to complete. KOTOR is almost perfect in this - doesn't look that great, but is massively fun and huge!
