Microsoft has extended the life of Skype Classic due to popular demand but only for "some time" whatever that is. They've created a new forum for user feedback and votes, however the votes are pretty sparse there so far.

I have Skype and use it for working from home and calls abroad using a dedicated Skype number. Even the old classic UI is very confusing to find version options.

First thing I do on any reinstall I do is bin off the absolute travesty that is the Windows 10 Skype and install the classic version!

As soon as it isn't available I'll be using whatever their main competitor is!

Isn't skype exhorbitantly expensive if you want to call mobiles/land-lines (international or UK) ..I had switched to localphone with an IP softphone.

Depends on the country. I called Germany for 2p per min today.

they seem to have put their prices up - but De is nonetheless a third of that.
