Those who used to play C&C Generals

A mate and I dug it out the loft last night, installed it, patched it, installed Zero Hour etc.

When we play a network game, it works flawlessly, then suddenly mid-game it will close having encountered a technical error. Did any of you ever have this problem, can it be fixed?

Him - Vista
Me - Windows 7
We both have quick laptops easily enough to run the game

Any ideas?

Prob just a software incompatibility. Tried the obvious like running in XP compatibility mode and as administrator?

Patch the game fully and run it as adminsitrator.
