Ok a bit of history first!
i am a little out of touch with custom builds given that my last build was an Intel core 2 Quad Q6600 some 5/6 years ago.
Sadly my rig and the den that it resided in had to make way for kids so I bought an HP laptop to see me through.
Now that I have my den space back I want to do a budget build.

I'm not looking for anything fancy as its use will merely be some light photoshop work, the wife using her vinyl plotting software and then general internet browsing, media streaming etc.

My laptop is currently spec'd at AMD A10-4655M (2Ghz) with 16GB of DDR3 RAM.

In my mind it won't take much to better that in all honesty. So I was thinking allong the lines of the following new hardware

Intel Pentium G4560
Asus B150M Pro gaming Motherboard (for aesthetics more than gaming abilities)
8 or 16GB of DDR4 RAM
128GB SSD drive of choice

Any thoughts on this setup?
Thanks!

Hi and welcome to the forums. :)

You want a B250/H270 board really for a Kabylake cpu. While the older Skylake boards will take them they are unlikely to work without a bios flash. The newer boards will work with that cpu out of the box.
