Thanks both. Good spot on the PSU, I thought that was ATX3.0 but it isn't.

I need to find the peerless assassin in stock somewhere then.

Yeah gaming and browsing rig. 1440 or UW 1440. I've not decided on the monitor.

Nothing too crazy with the choices you have made but despite all the publicity I think you would be better getting a 7800X3D for a gaming PC over the 7700.

I thought about that but not sure the 7800X3D is over £100 better...?

7700 is a good cpu and it is debateable whether the 7800X3D is better on a £/FPS graph but I would go for the X3D if buying from new. Totally your call and the 7700 is still a very good cpu.

I did add it to my basket at one point but didn't expect the extra 5% at 2k res would be worth it.

However, I don't upgrade often. Most often the socket is obsolete by the time I do anyway, so aside from maybe 1 graphics card refresh during the core PCs lifetime it tends to stay how first built/spec'd until it meets the bin a few years down the line.

So for future proofing against modern games perhaps the X3D might give it some more headroom and lifespan? Similar reason I decided to go AM5 instead of 1700.

I might also stick with the Nochua. The TR Peerless Assassin performs well but I value low noise.
