Hey Guys,

Was talking with the parents today about a first car, I still have a while before I can drive. But we got onto the subject of what car I would like to get and I stupidly said Volvo V70. Now to my suprise they didn't disagree, they said they'd pay but I'd have to pay the insurance. But how much do you think insurance would cost an a Volvo V70? Not the new version btw, maybe Y plate or 51?

Impossible to say really. Too many variables.

Just fill in a random quote on say, elephant (is good with young drivers), to give you a rough idea.

Depends on your age dude.

Id imagine an estate car is possibly an ok place to start, but you might struggle with insurance if you're still young.

Try a 1.25 Fiesta, Fiat Cinquecento/Seicento all the usuals.. and most things Jap.

Bigger family cars can be surprisingly good on insurance, because they tend to attract the more sedate drivers. The quick models e.g. T5 will be pretty much uninsurable I suspect, but a 2.0 or 2.5 10v might be affordable. As said, just check online.
