Suggestions:
1) How about a Core2Duo System? An E6300 would go toe to toe with that X2 4200, and the E6300 has more overclocking headroom (3Ghz  ).
2) Is your PSU overkill? With that much power, you'd be able to throw in a 2nd 7600GT.
Also, there are mixed opinions on Hipers. I'm unfamiliar with them, so I'll keep quiet.
3) Swap out the Maxtor for a Seagate 7200.10. Clever Perpendicular do-dickeys give the Seagates a performance advantage. Also, MaxLines are really mean for Server-Style usage. Eg always-on, continuous usage & long-life. Maxtor's DiamondMax are better for performance, in a regular day-to-day PC.

1) i looked into core 2's but found that i couldnt get a mobo with sli (want this so i can upgrade later) for less than £100 quid really.

2) i planned the psu so that it had enough power for sli if i want to get a second gfx card although i wont get the second card now ill wwait until i need to upgrade or move to dx 10. anyone any thoughts on the Hipers then?

3) yup seagates look good, may get a
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 200GB ST3200820AS SATA-II 8MB Cache - OEM (HD-085-SE)
instead. does the difference in cache 16mb compared with 8mbs make any noticeable difference?

thanks for the help
