Have you guys come across any info about whether any future monitors/TVs with the following specs will be available in the the near future? Maybe the end of this year or sometime in 2016?

Larger than 60"

4K (3840 x 2160) OLED

120/144hz

Displayport 1.3

Adaptive sync

I've been looking at the freesync/gsync monitors but none are the size I'm looking for, only TVs come in this size it would seem. Searching the web has not really given me the information I was looking for, so thought I'd ask here on the off chance someone might have found something I've missed or knows more about the industry.

Thanks

a monitor over 60"?! i think you'll be waiting a long long time for anything fitting those kind of specs to be honest

Haha OK, didn't realise we were that far off from that sort of technology.

I'll look into current 4K TVs/monitors and get one of them instead for the long long wait :p

I perfect monitor would be a 34" variable curve oled 4k screen.

And i can see one been available within the next year.

You will certainly have tv's, though although the refresh rate is only 60Hz.

Lg had 60" plus oled 4k tv's at the recent show. I must admit a little bit of wetness occured when i saw them

Doubt it very much :p Although more than happy to be wrong!

Oh i can see them coming.

Lg had a oled tv at the show where you could adjust the screen from flat to curved with the remote.

They had 7 oled 4k tv's there from 55" to 75".

thats 4k 60hz.

So a 34" widescreen oled monitor is actually a step down.

Of course the price might be £2k+

4k screens either tv or monitor over 60hz are a few years off yet though.

Yup, OLED is taking of big time for TV's and now there is talk of QLED TVs  Unfortunately monitors are so far behind tv tech though.

I do hope we see OLED monitors next year especially since they have sorted the burn in out. Just a shame that the price will be stupidly high when they do show up.

Yeah and not so long ago monitors were ahead of tv's screen tech wise.

We need more screens like the Sony 30" PVM-X300 4K

Okay thats a pro screen costing $30,000 but it has a black luminance of 0.0001cd/m2 and a true 1,000,000 to 1 contrast ratio! :O

Definitely! Lots of profit and 2 of the biggest OLED manufacturers are missing out on it. I do wonder what the cost of making those Sony displays really is, there is no way they would cost anywhere near "that" much to make especially when you look at the price of the top end panasonic plasma, pioneer kuro's and LG's OLED TV's....

Tbf that's pretty much in the luxury category, and those kinds of goods always have huge profit margins, but it takes a lot of trust-building to be in a position to cash-in on it. I still think we're far away from seeing affordable OLED Monitors.
