Thoughts on a gaming system?

It could be cheaper if you build it yourself, though not by a lot I imagine. The hardware there is pretty decent.

A 970 can still do a good job at 1440P.

There are cheaper systems based on Z97+4790K that will still provide an excellent experience.

Such as - https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-054-OG&groupid=43&catid=2475 - once you've selected the appropriate upgrades.

OcUk could have built you a system from a spec, but the charges vary from £60 for a simple spec rising and scaling up to more complicated systems. Plus there are other factors which allow these off the shelf systems to be well priced. If you specced up the parts individually and then added on the costs to build it you might find it costs more.

Thanks, I'm just looking for a decent system that is going to last me a good few years. I know loads of people ask it and it is next to impossible to actually figure out but it would be great if I had a system that I could run games on high settings for a decent amount of time. Especially if I'm dropping this kind of money.

A single 970 will demolish that, but if you want more ask customer services if you can have a 980 instead of say two 970s.
