Hi there,

I've specced up a build I'm interested in and am wondering on other peoples thoughts. It is for gaming/browsing/watching movies and other random things. Ideally it is for high settings on up coming games such BF3, Diablo 3 and Formula 1 2011.

Thanks

To be honest I can't particularly fault you selection.

What about cooling though?

I assumed the stock fans/coolers were more than capable? Is there a significant difference using an after market cooler/fan?

Retail Blu-ray drive so you get some playback software.

Which software comes with the retail drives? Aren't they quite a bit more expensive?

are you planning to get another 570, if not then you can go for a 650w psu.

not sure how good the force series 3 is, if shows as ok in the hard drive forum fair enough, if not maybe worth looking at the crucial m4 128gb.

thing to bear in mind when getting the memory with the tall heat sinks is that they can cause issues when trying to fit coolers, if the cooler infringes over the memory slots.

The stock one's aren't very good, and rather on the loud side.

Any suggestions on which one to go for?

You want Power DVD/WinDVD as the playback of Blu-ray films is licensed and there are no good free programs.

I found a retail drive for less than the OEM you selected - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CD-109-LG&groupid=701&catid=10&subcat=314

How on earth did I miss that drive! Thanks for the tip, after checking online it also includes PDVD 10.

No plan to instal another Graphics card, I'll re-evaluate the PSU now.

I haven't gone into the HDD forum yet, I picked this one based on its size, price and performance. If the one you mention has better reviews then I'll look into it.

I'm looking at the 80 Plus Gold models to get the electric bills down as much as possible. (5% difference in efficency can still add up over a year!).
