Thoughts on cooling

Hi guys

anyone know what temperature I should be aiming for,

currently running a g3220 and its sat at 32c eek.

I am guessing I need to invest in either a better case and cooling or decent cooling on the current.

it has 3 fans on it and a rajintek air cooler,

ideas guys?

I am getting intermittent shut downs, when playing games, that initially led me to think it may be a psu issue, but the rails look normal on that.

Your help is much appreciated .

Hi,

specs as below -

Gigabyte Z97X-SLI
team xtream frost version DDR3 2400 4 gb x 2
Intel Pentium G3258 with Rajintek air cooler (ps, plan was this was always meant to be temporary and a devils canyon would live in its place at some point).
PSU Corsair GX 750W
MSI HD 7850 OC 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Cards
1x 1tb sata 7200 rm
1 x 128 SSD

Case is some no make midi, that has 2 side fans and one rear fans. Can attach photos if it will help,

cheers for the reply.

Start worrying when you hit 60c ~ at idle, but run a stress test programme and check ful load temps, this is more important.

Your cooler is more than adequate for this CPU.

Running a stress test on the cpu using prime95

I received the following output.
CPU peaked at 37c

Puzzled with this one then,

I generally get reboots when playing games, but the volts look fine, even under stress.
I just ran a Burnin Test and again, was fine, with the CPU pretty much not surpassing 33C

Voltage on the memory is 1.512v
Temp on the gpu is 32c idle
Running a Burnin stress test, peaked at 61c with GPU load at 98% and fan speed at 41%

There is something not right here. If you are running a stress test and the cpu is only hitting the 30's then unless you are outside in the arctic circle there is no way your temps are that low.

Do you have the latest bios for your motherboard?

Are you sure about your psu as Corsair does not have a GX series.

Hi guys

anyone know what temperature I should be aiming for,

currently running a g3220 and its sat at 32c eek.

32c (I'm guessing for idle) is well... completely 100% beyond fine...

Actually... yes this so much, if it's literally not going over mid 30s at most under full load.. then you have some problem...

Yeah your right about the PSU, its my bad, its a coolermaster on the bios front, I am going to check if there is an update, (which I suspect there will be), its currently on rev 8

Once it is updated I will do another stress test and monitor the temps.

Hi

I have been using the gigabyte app centre software and Techpower GPU for the gpu.

I have ran the tests again, using realtemp instead, this is reporting it maxing out at 42c, which from what I have read, is probably the right kind of temps i should be expecting with my current build.

I have increased the volts, to my memory and will get my son to properly test it tonight with gaming :D
